This burgundy long sleeve dress is a classic look for fall!
The burgundy dress makes for the perfect Thanksgiving holiday style or a “meet the parents” dress!
I’m in the midst of compiling some holiday dresses to share with you next week for all sorts of festive winter events, but first I think we need a style that will take you through fall holidays, specifically, Thanksgiving!

Dress: ‘Be the Boss’ Dress by Lela Rose from Rent the Runway // Earrings: Cushion Drop Earrings by Carolee from Bloomingdale’s // Necklace: ‘Kraals’ Necklace by House of Harlow at Zappos // Bracelet: Pave Pyramid Bracelet by Lulu Frost from Lane Crawford, also for rent at Rent the Runway as the Apex Bracelet // Clutch: Flat Clutch by Clare Vivier from Revolve // Makeup: Jane Iredale (Non-Toxic) Bronzer from My Habit // Shoes: Emma Suede T-Strap Pumps from Saks off 5th
I have been looking for a burgundy dress like this to wear to my own Thanksgiving celebration, and I think a classic dress like this is the perfect style to rent or buy for events like family dinners, fall or winter office parties, or other late fall and winter gatherings where a nice demure dress like this is appropriate. I call dresses like these “meet the parents” dresses because they are stylish but conservative enough for nearly any setting; just the sort of look you want when meeting your potential in-laws for the first time or for family photos that will last for years.
Classic Burgundy dress with Long Sleeves
I’d also wear this to an office party or any other event where tasteful but festive look is called for. One could also choose this dress to wear to an informal engagement party. It can also work or for your engagement photo session, for a fall or winter wedding shower, as your rehearsal dinner dress, or as a wedding guest dress for an informal fall wedding. This dress is from Rent the Runway .
