This post, Purple Dresses for a Wedding Guest, was Updated May 22, 2013, so it is very out of date and will be updated soon! Depending on your role in the wedding, please visit Purple Dresses for Wedding Guests, Purple Bridesmaid Dresses, and Purple Dresses for the Mother of the Bride for updated dress picks!
As I mentioned in my other post, I was feeling guilty for leaving my readers high-and-dry without a single purple dress idea in the past few months. Well, I've now collected this friendly shop-able version of some of the dresses that I hope to feature just as soon as I can write the posts!
Purple is a great regal color, and can go from day to evening with ease. It's not usually loud and showy, but it is elegant and flattering to many, so it's a great color to wear to a wedding to look lovely without upstaging the bride. Here are my recent selections; there are some great wedding guest dresses, mothers' dresses, and even some potential bridesmaid dresses in the bunch.
Update on May 22: Looks like all the purple dresses I suggested when I first wrote this have sold out, so I'm updating the post with some new ideas!
Purple Dress for a wedding guest : Trina Turk 'Blaze' Sleeveless Fit & Flare Purple Dress
Note: Some of these dresses look thigh-high, and some look like they have some serious cleavage which I don't recommend for wedding guests usually, but I think these look so short because the models are tall and skinny. I think these dresses should hit just above the knee if you're between 5'2" and 5'7", and the neckline on that Issa dress is usually modest - it's the one Kate Middleton wore to announce her engagement!
