Today, I ordered one of the dresses that I have in contention for the dress I might wear to my friends' wedding on September 1st. A little background - the wedding will be outside in a rural and lovely part of New Hampshire on a hillside surrounded by the White Mountains. (So, um, the heels I have here still might not be the best choice...) However, based on the venue and time, I thought a dressy casual style of dress would be good, and I really fell in love with this polka dot version from Dorothy Perkins.
If I interpreted their wedding invitation correctly, their wedding colors seem to be a more royal blue, orange, and a touch of red, so I think I'll blend in, but not be mistaken for any member of the wedding party with this one.
As luck would have it, not only is this outfit a little patriotic, but Dorothy Perkins ( a UK retailer) was having a sale in honor of the Olympics today, so I got 20% off of this number and I feel like I somehow gave London a little salute as well. So, even if I don't wear it to the wedding, it will be a happy addition to my closet.
